I actually have a SRO 1000-SSS working great but i have upgraded to a 125 SPS with high bio-load of fishes and it seems that the Skimmer is not keeping up the demand.

My question is if you guys have in mind an pump upgrade in the short future for this skimmer before i decide to change the skimmer. I heard that will be coming out new models of DC pump and thats the route i am going with my question... Less wattage and better performance staying with the same skimmer body.

Thanks in advance...

Unfortunately the Bubble Blaster is pretty much the highest pump in efficiency you can go with. If you have a 125 SPS tank, the skimmer may be undersized for that. If you are having issues with the skimmer always pulling too much skimmate, you could add a neck extension which would allow the water and air to mix longer and give you that darker skimmate you may be looking for.

Thanks for the response... I cannot put the extension becuase i don't have the height required.. In my case what i think is that it is not pulling enough as you said undersized...

Just dealing with some slime algae but i have to recognize that my 8 fish poops enough and 4 of them are Tangs...

If i tweak it to get dark skimmate the algae grows faster but on the wetter side it's growth is less.
