Will this adapter, http://www.coralvue.com/otp-pump-black-output-adapter , work with my aquatrance 1000s pump?

I am sorry for the inconvenience. You can always try a towel in between the union and the channel locks just to get them to nudge free. That will allow you to have a good grip without damaging the pump.

I tried that. The problem is the adapter and the union both move. I can remove the pump, but have to take the skimmer out of the sump. More of an inconvenience than anything.
