I have a Maxspect XF250 and want to add a second pump however i dont have the space for a second XF250, Can i add a XF230 with my XF250 controller? if not can i add a second XF 250 vertically and one horizontally without having funky water flow?

Can you run the XF250 vertically? Yes, the orientation of the pump has no bearing over the controller.

Unfortunately the only one that can answer that question is you. Every tank is different with different aquascaping and corals so the only way to find out if the pump is too disruptive in your tank is to test it and see.
