Bought gyres and icecap interface for Apex. I noticed that I can create a profile type WAV or Vortech. I like the vortech options of reefcrest, tidal swell, lagoon, etc. has anyone tried using them on the Gyres or Sicce pumps? Will those programs run on any variable pump?

Most likely not. The APEX is programmed to send a particular signal that only the Vortech pumps can understand. The gyre needs a 0-10v signal to run.
