I have a Octopus calcium Reactor with a OTP1000 pump. I have had it for about 1 year and have had to replace the pump twice and its already making a lot of noise so its going to have o be replaced again. Is anybody else having this problem? Is there a good replacement pump for these reactors? HELP!

We use OTP pumps in many of our products. They are good pumps. How often do you clean the pump? Can you please check the pump's impeller and see if there are any signs of damage such as cracks or scratches? If a small rock got to the impeller, it may have caused it to crack or badly scratch and that would explain the issue you are having.

I clean it about every 6 months. Is it possible that it is getting debris in the impeller from the aragonite.
This pump runs all the time and I wonder if the aragonite particles are breaking down into small enough particles that its getting into the impeller and damaging it. Should I use some kind of filter on the inlet side?
I did order a new Impeller this morning.

Make sure that the sponges are clean as well. If the media is too small, then it may make it past the sponges and into the pump and that could definitely cause some issues.
