Water Overflowing Reef Octopus BH100

I have had the Reef Octopus BH100 skimmer for over a year now and it has been working great. last week it started to over flow, not out of the collection cup but out of the return chamber. what could be causing this? i have cleaned the air tube, removed the down return pipe and removed the collection box and it still is overflowing water out of the top of both the return and receiving chamber

any help would be greatly appreciated

Please remove the sponges and see if that solves the issue. If so, then the sponges will need to be either cleaned or changed.

sorry for the late replay, i removed all sponges and the skimmer functioned properly, i then cleaned sponged and reinserted and all seems to be well
