Hello,
I'm looking into a full system that I can install to my skimmer cup? Do you have a full package I can buy?. I'm also looking to buy a ATO system for my sumpless display tank. Can you also lead me to one of those systems?

Thanks,
Saul

Unfortunately there is no premade shutoff valve for HOB skimmers. The skimmer is too small and there is no enough space to install the float switch. You may be able to do it yourself but it would be considered a DIY project. Sorry but that is the catch when running HOB skimmer... due to the size and location of the skimmer, there are certain features that cannot be included the way an INT or regular EXT skimmer can.

I'm running fairly large skimmer made but another company. I'm assuming I can buy your parts and transfer them to my system. Which do you recommend? I'd do it even if I have to pay for a cup that I won't be using.
Thanks

Will our cups fit your skimmer? Have you asked the manufacturer of your skimmer if they have some type of automatic shutoff system? Does your skimmer cup have a drain hole to say drain the skimmate to some type of remote container under the tank?

No. Yes, but they don't make one. Yes if for some reason the cup fills quicker then I can extract I want the piece of mind to know it will shut off.
Thanks

I think I found what I was looking for. I assume I can drill my cup lid and install this?

If your skimmer cup has a drain hole, then you can use this...

You can put it under the tank and when full, it will automatically shut off the skimmer. It is a larger container so you dont have to clean the collection cup every morning. Also has carbon at the top to prevent the smell from permeating the room.

Thanks but I prefer to have one of these installed in my skimmer cup, even if I have to drill a hole. My big concern is having the skimmer fill quicker then it drains.

Right, that's why the waste collector may be a better option. If the collection cup is small then adding a float switch may cause the collection cup to fill in just a little bit and then shut off the skimmer which defeats the purpose. Just when the skimmer is getting going, it shuts off because the collection cup is "full". The waste collector allows you to let the skimmer run for longer as it will only shut off when the waste collector is full and not when the small collection cup fills which usually happens once a day.

If you are looking for something a little larger, we do have a larger model as well.
