I recently purchased the pump from you guys about 2 weeks ago and have it fitted to a NWB 110. I have read that the skimmer and pump must be raised up another 2 inches within the sump; so instead of 9 or 10 inches of water, it is now running in about 7 inches of water and the waste gate is above the water line. When I try to tune the gate valve, it doesn't seem to make a difference, since the bubbles it is making are big and I have to empty the cup every few hours. Also, when I put my arm inside the display tank to do something, the bubble level inside the skimmer drops to within the body. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks

You are not doing anything wrong. When you feed your tank or put your hands in your tank or do something with your tank, you change the water tension and the skimmer will drop. This is just temporary and the skimmer will go back to normal in a few hours. DO NOT adjust the skimmer when it has dropped as that will just make it overflow like crazy once it goes back to normal.

The skimmer should be in 7" of water and no more.

How long has the skimmer been running for? Was there any break in usage while you got the new pump?
