I am looking to make use of the included y cable that came with my Maxspect xf250 controller. I am using my own 12v battery back up system. I could not find anything that explains how to use the y cable with the controller. Will the controller sense the change in voltage and drop the power to the pumps? Is there settings in the controller to set the power percentage and flow patterns on battery power? Are there any detailed instructions on how to use the included y cable and features associated with it?

Use the cables that come with your battery as they will have the right connectors for it. Usually batteries come with diagrams on how to properly connect the pump to the battery itself.

The battery is an existing system in my house. It's 12v. I can connect it to the included y cable. I just want to know what the instructions are for the y cable. Also looking for information on the controller functions on battery power.

The Y cable on the gyre has labels as to where each end goes to. Just follow those directions. In terms of the controller, it will ignore all programming and run the pumps at a constant 30% speed to extend battery life.
