I have a 54 gal tank with a 15 gal sump. Thinking of upgrading my present skimmer aqua romora pro HOB. I have a sps mixed tank with a heavy bio- load, would like to know which of your skimmers you would recommend, was looking at either the NWB100 or the xp1000sss?

Between the two skimmers, I would go with the XP1000SSS. It is a much nicer skimmer and also takes the least amount of space.
Also, if you were to compare the pump of the XP1000SSS (Bubble Blaster 1000) and the pump of a NWB-110 (Aquatrance 1000), the Bubble Blaster is a much better pump. It draws more air and has higher water flow. It will allow your skimmer to process more water than the Aquatrance would.
Also, the Bubble Blaster pump comes with a 3-year warranty while the Aquatrance comes with a 2-year one.

I spoke to someone yesterday at CoralVue and they stated that the xp1000sss would be to large of a skimmer for my tank water volume and I would be better off with the mwb100.
