I have a Bubble Blaster 1000s that I use for CO2 diffusion in a planted freshwater tank. CO2 is fed into the venturi of an octopus bubble blaster 1000s needle wheel pump. The output goes to a 20” cerges reactor that then that output goes to the input of the main sump pump. I need to slow down the pump in order to increase the dwell time of the CO2 in the reactor. Will it damage the pump if I put a a ball valve between the output of the BB and the reactor in order to decrease the flow of the output from the BB?

The pump is not made for fresh water and you could potentially burn out the pump.

Wow, that's really disappointing! I wish I had known that before I paid for it.
