I would like to purchase the neck extender for this skimmer CV-OCT-NK170
What would be the recommended water level for the skimmer with the neck?
I would also like to replace the pump with a better performing pump, which pump can I use on this skimmer that would fit??

Same as before. If you add a neck extension but then lower the skimmer into more water, then you are nullifying the neck extension. Leave the skimmer where it is and add the neck extension.
In terms of the pump, there is no upgrade as you have the HY2000S pump which is top of the line.
