RO 202S

I have a two part question.

1) I am at day 18 of my new skimmer and it appeared to working very well at day 14. Lots of dirty foam that finally starting rolling into the cup. As my nitrates had risen to 40+ppm during the break in period, I did a 50% water change 3 days ago. Now, I have almost no foam head. I have the water/bubble line about an 1" up the neck of the cup.

2) Although my display is 75gal, I have a 6" DSB which I'm guessing reduces my actual water to ~55 gal plus another 15gal or so in the sump. So, approximate gallons for system is 70. Is this skimmer too much for my system? I do feel I have a moderate bio-load with softies, zoas, and fish.

What should I do at this point?

Thank you,
Lisa

Thank you for contacting us.

1. That is probably because you just did a water change. Give the skimmer a day and it will be back to normal.
2. Yes, unfortunately that skimmer is too larger for your system. A CLSC-152S would have been a better match. The 202S on that size tank will render erratic performance.

Carlos,
I have contacted the vendor (closed today). Is this something Coralvue can help me rectify?
Thank you,

Unfortunately we do not have any type of trade in. You would have to contact the retailer where you purchased it and inquire about their return/exchange policy.
