classic int-200 wobble

Got this about a week ago, the pump is heavy and unsupported so the skimmer naturally leans towards the pump. Once turned on, it can support itself, but in the event of shutting off the skimmer or power outage, the skimmer will fall over in the sump.

Require a proper fix to make this self supporting, not a crutch, to prevent refund

how much water is the skimmer on? The only time we have seen that issue is when the skimmer is placed in shallow water.

At that water height, the skimmer should not tip over at all. Can you post pictures of your setup please?

Photo showing that there is about a 1/4 inch gap between bottom of pump and glass.

My vertex 150 had a pump with rubber grommets that bears into the same plane as the skimmer.

Is the skimmer output against the wall?

No, this skimmer leans over while out of the sump on a level surface. I was hoping that being in the sump on 8 inches of water would give it buoyancy and plumb itself. The responses to my concerns aren't really focusing on on the problem but rather the evidence to validate that my claim. I understand a good picture may help determine if something is wrong by either product or assembly. Please clearly outline what evidence you need to see, so we can speed this up.

Can you please zoom out so we can see the entire skimmer setup and how it leans? The close ups don't really let us see the entire skimmer and how it is setup. What is the model number of the pump? Did you get the skimmer with the pump or did you purchase the pump separately?

And to remind you, having this in the sump with the top on, doesn't help. The only watt to keep it upright is to hold it while it fills with water/foam.

Is it just me or does it look like the acrylic cone is cut incorrectly and that's why the skimmer is leaning one way? Can you confirm?

Skimmer appears to be manufactured square. Anyways, I have found my own solution to this problem. I found 3 extra river feet that I could attached to the bottom of the skimmer. This changes the fulcrum points of it leaning over. I'm rather disappointed that I had to come up with this solution and that the skimmer just didn't come this way right from the factory.

another separate topic of concern , for the couple days that I've had the skimmer out of water. the water pump did not start up once it got plugged back in and required me to bump it /tap it to get it spinning again. so I am plugged it assembled the skimmer with the pump want to try back on again and it did the same thing all over again. the skimmer is only been in water for a total of about three days before I removed it to take these pictures. I sure hope this isn't what is in store for me for the months to come? or did I do something wrong?

The pump seized because salt dried up inside the pump and caused it to stick. When salt water dries up it leaves salt and a sticky residue. When you remove equipment from the tank and store it, it is best to quickly take it apart and rinse it with fresh water to wash off the salt and prevent the salt from causing it to seize.
