I am deciding between the two skimmers. A few local people that I have talked to said they like the pump on the outside as it is much easier to maintain. Also on the Coralvue site it shows the SRO-XP1000SSS as Retired. Is there a reason it was retired? Am I just better off getting the SRO-1000INT? The sump i have can accommodate either one.

Unfortunately, the price of making full cone body skimmers has gone up. Also, a new line of skimmers with wine-shape bodies is coming out in the next couple of weeks and one of those skimmers will replace the XP1000SSS skimmer.
