Hi,

I'm thinking of replacing my Eheim 1620 return (635 gph) with one of the VarioS pumps. I'd also like the option of running 2-3 reactors off a manifold, something I don't do today with the Eheim.

Which model would you recommend?

Thanks.

Depends on what you are trying to attach to your manifold. You will need to figure out the GPH of everything that will be attached to the manifold. If you don't have it you will need to find it. Then that plus the amount of water needed for your return pump to keep water moving between the tank and the sump will give you your total GPH needed. With that number in hand, you will be able to look at prospective pumps objectively and see if the pumps satisfy your expected GPH need.

I guess what I'm asking is the GPH rating of a VarioS pump direct equivalent of a regular AC pump? If so, a VarioS 2 should be sufficient to replace an Eheim 1620 in the same application. 635 GPH currently gives me approx 110% of the throughput I need.
