Submersible or not

I have owned for about 5 years now a Reef Octopus 2000 HoB. Is the AQ2000s pump on the back submersible? Per the description of a new replacement pump it is....just unsure of the older pumps......it works great just had it overflow 1 too many times and the wife is not happy. Any help please.
