Heres my problem, way back when the super reef octopus 3000 ext cone skimmers came out I purchased one at reef specialty maybe a little after a year of getting the skimmer my bubble blaster (SN 0006090) would not restart so you guys sent me out a new pump (SN 0010012666). About a year ago that pump started to do the same thing so I tried to remove the o ring and do anything else that would maybe work and it just wouldn't restart. So I installed the original one and it started. Since then I have not turned off the pump its been running the whole time. Inevitably the impeller just kicked the bucket today so now i have my old pump which works but no impeller and the new one you gave me with an almost new impeller and the motor will now kick over. I can't interchange the new impeller with the old pump because sometime between pumps you guys remodeled the bubble blaster and It will not fit. Sorry about the long confusing story but can I get an older model impeller or do you have any refurbished newer model pumps I can receive. Thanks for your time, Jason

Can you provide me with the model number of both the old and the new pump? Also, how long ago did you purchase the skimmer with the original bubble blaster pump?

I don't remember exactly but I think it was around June of 2010. The pump is a HY3000S

Over the weekend I tried to start up the second one you guys sent me and after around 50 times of plugging and unplugging it finally started up. It was running all weekend but of course i lost my power this morning for a minute and now it won't start back up. I have been reading on the internet that a lot of people are having the same problem with these bubble blaster pumps. I have a large SPS tank and I really don't want to go skimmerless for too long.

The second pump had to be running less than a year before it started acting up is this pump still under warranty?

Jason,

Sorry for the delayed response. I was trying to catch up with all the weekend requests and also double checking on the warranty information.

The warranty is based on the original product and not the replacement product. The replacement product does not add or no take away time from the original warranty. So the replacement pump is only covered for the time in which the original pump was covered. At this time, the original purchased item is out of warranty so both the original and replacement pumps are out of warranty.

We do sell the impellers on our website and you can purchase them directly if you would like. Here is the direct link:
