I have a Diablo 200 DSC-200INT skimmer and I cannot adjust it, everytime it shuts down or you shut it down, it never comes back to the original setting and it runs for 3-4 hrs and then it changes the height of the bubbles, either too high or too low. In the parts there was a 90 degree rubber tubing and it was not mentioned in the parts list at all so do not know where it should go. Thank you, Gene

How old is the tank? How long have you been running the skimmer?

The rubber elbow goes get attached to the drain pipe on the collection cup. There should be a 1" clear tube as well works as a union to be able to connect the white drain hose to the rubber elbow.

The skimmer needs to break in first. All skimmers have a break in period of around 3-4 weeks. During this time, the skimmer will act erratically while the the water washes off the oils that came in the acrylic directly from the factory and a layer of bacteria grows and lines the inside walls of the skimmer. Once the skimmer is broken in, it will be very stable and almost hands off.

During the break in period, please try to keep the skimmer at the lowest setting and open the gate valve all the way. Tweak it as needed knowing that you will have to change it again every day or so until the skimmer settles.

Here is a good article on dialing skimmers:
