IceCap 3K Performance

This is my first Gyre style pump and I could use some recommendations on how to get the best performance out of my Gyre pump.

I have a Reefer 450, which is a 92 gal display tank. I have 1 Gyre 3K pump installed on 1 side of the tank.
I’m not getting the circulation that I thought I would. I do think it may be because I’m new to this style of pump.
I have the pump running @ 60% in a pulsating mode.

Circulation on the side of the tank with the Gyre pump is good; circulation on the other side (3-5 ft away) is not so good.

Questions:
- When the documentation says a Gyre 3K can support a 100+ gallon tank, is that based on the Gyre running at 100%?
- To get more circulation, should I use a constant mode instead of pulsating? Would the mode matter at all?
- In the end, do I just need another IceCap 3K for the other side of my tank?

Where do you have the 3K placed? Obstacles in the path of the flow could hamper the flow but the pump can easily supply good flow for a 100gal aquarium. If the pulse is too fast then the pump ramps up to the set high speed but its hard to retain top speed flow since the pump is cycling between 0-60%. So longer pulse settings may provide your aquarium with greater flow at further distances.

Hi Jeremy -

I have the pump located on the right side of my tank; horizontally about 2 inches below the water line. My rock/aqua-scape is in the lower half of the tank so the top half of the tank has clear unobstructed water from side to side.
I do have a loc-line hose from my return pump at the mid-point of the 60 inch tank. This is at the water level

Good point on the pulse. (i.e. extending the intervals with the pulses ). I'll try that to see what it does.
Over the weekend, I switched to a constant mode as I figured this would offer me better performance. However, I have the same results; half of my tank closer to the pump is getting good flow, the other half away from the pump is getting minimal movement. I'm hesitant to turn the pump up higher ( unless recommended ) as the side closer to the pump may go from good flow to too much flow.

Usually the opposite side of the aquarium is exposed to the flow produced by the gyre. Please make sure your directional cages are close to parallel with the water surface directing the flow to the opposite side of the aquarium as well.
