Outside magnet of icecap gyre stuck to the back of my brand new aquarium

We've had the icecap gyre on our brand new reef aquarium for a couple of weeks, running at about 40%, and had been happy with it. We decided to try to move it to see if we could improve the flow, but came to find that the outside magnet was stuck to the back of the tank. We have pulled, pushed, used warm water (we are tempted to use an adhesive remover but are concerned about damaging the black background of the tank itself). I have used a metal scraper to try and pry it off, but no force seems to budge it. Have you run into any other issues similar to this? The product gives a clear example of it being used in the exact placement we have it. We are at a loss and very disappointed.

The outside magnet has a suction type grip that is very strong and prevents the pump from moving. With good sideways and away force you should be able to dislodge the bond.
