I have a 225g reef with 40g sump with a RO Extreme XS200. I like the skimmer although the Sicce Psk 1000 pump is extremely noisey. The specs for this skimmer seem to be underrated for my 225g. I was looking to upgrade to the Regal 200 int but after reviewing the specs. It's the same skimmer almost as my XS200. So my question is can I just replace my Sicce pump with one of the RODC Controllable/VarioS pumps for my XS skimmer and achieve the same results as the Regal??
I love my RO XS if I can modify and upgrade it with a better, quieter, more efficient pump would that do for my setup??
Thank you!:)

Yes, you can use the VarioS-4S skimmer pump and that would be a big upgrade. It would essentially turn your XS200 skimmer into the Regal 200INT...
Thanks for the help! Besides Apex control what advantage does the VarioS pumps have over the RODC?
I have an Apex currently. I do like the fact that you can control feedings on the controller.

No real performance advantage if that is what you are asking. The controller is the main difference with 0-10V advanced control and a port for the use of a float switch.

Which RODC model will work with my XS200? And would I need and special fithings or is it a plug and play connection to my XS200??
I would like to do some research of the 2 models before I make my decison. You guys have been great and super prompt at answering my questions and I greatly appreciate it!:)
Thanks

You would need the VarioS 4S: http://www.coralvue.com/varios-4s-controllable-skimmer-pump
No adapters needed. It will mount directly up the skimmer body.

What would be the optimal setting for my skimmer with the VarioS 4s?

This skimmer does best when in steady water depths of 7-8.5in deep.
