XF250 on 90g best settings?

Hello!

I am a new owner of the gyre xf250 and have it installed on my 90g reef tank. I tried to play with the different settings via the controller but most of them seemed too strong for my corals. I currently have the gyre set on Alternating Gyre Mode with max flow of 10%, but I still think its a bit too strong.

Is there any better settings that could provide slower/less powerful flow? Or is the xf250 too powerful for my 90g tank?

Thanks in advance!

How long is the tank? It all depends on what you have inside the tank. Depends on your rock work and sand. Every tank is different so what works for you may not work for someone else. Also, flow is very subjective so what may seem like a lot of flow for you is probably not enough for someone else. The only thing we can recommend is to test and test until you find something that works for your tank. Usually an XF250 on a 90 is fine but again, all depends on the tank itself.

The tank is almost 6 months old. The reason I say that the current flow is powerful is because of how hard some corals are moving (I had some corals disintegrate due to high flow from my previous jebaos rw8).

Yeah, I would suggest the XF250's as you can always slow them down. But this is just a suggestion. At the end of the day, you are the only one that knows exactly what your tank needs.
