Hi I bought a new IceCap Gyre x-150 from EBAY which is from www.saltwateraquarium.com delivered. Once it came I plugged into my Gyre 150 and the power cable is so loose it will not make contact. I pushed as hard as I can and managed once to get the power light to stay on for about 10secs but the unit is flashing on the error light and the unit itself wont start. Can you help me please. I really wanted to show this product to UltimateReef which is the largest UK support and online reef as I am part of the help/support. And I am building my whole system around apex products.

Regards

Paul

Thank you. I can help you with some basic troubleshooting but unfortunately, the item's warranty is not valid outside the US.

Does the pump run correctly with the native controller or are you having the same issue?

Pump runs totally fine using the original controller. The thing is I know how good your products are. And this doesn't boot up or connect properly. Which is such a shame... I also feel the controller I've been sent seems second hand as the sticker on the back is torn like it's been used and broken. I've take. This issue with the vendor. I understand warranty not valid. But it's got to work in the first instance..

How old is the pump? When did you purchase the pump?

I would say the pump is about a year old. I replaced the blades with the latest ones from gyre last month.

When you first got the module, did you connect this particular pump to the module or did you connect a different pump to the module. The module calibrates itself to the very first pump connected to it.

Please do the following:

1. Disconnect the power, pump and apex from the module.
2. Power up the module by itself and let it run through the cycle
3. Wait until the module errors out and gives you a red flashing light (takes about 30 seconds)
3. Power down the module and then connect the pump
4. Power up the module and the pump (don't connect to the apex yet) and the module will re-calibrate itself with the current pump.

See if that helps.
