We run a Reef Octopus 3000 powered by an OTP-3000 skimmer pump. The pump pushes water fine and has a new impeller, but the air mixture produced by the pump seems anemic (skimmer chamber doesn't have that much foam/bubbles). The pump including venturi inlet is clean, and there are no obstructions in the airline tubing feeding the pump.
Do you have any suggestions on how to get proper performance?

Like any new pump or skimmer it will take time for it to break in (release of oils from manufturing and handling and the buildup of a slime coat of bacteria). The deeper the water and its salinity also place a role in the amount of air that is inducted into the water.
