I installed my skimmer a few days ago and am still waiting for it to break in. I am hearing very loud gurgling sound coming from the return pipe. So far as I can tell I have both the inlet and outlet pipes set with the proper water level - however it is hard to tell from the YouTube video explaining installation. Past that could you give any further tips? I've seen a few demos of this skimmer, and also heard that it very quiet (for a HOB skimmer). The pump is whisper quiet, and the sound of the bubbles and air intake is pretty minimal but the sound of the rushing and gurgling water doesn't seem right. Thanks!

Thank you for contacting us. Please allow for the skimmer to properly break in. They get quiet as they mature.

What about the proper placement of the inlet and outlet pipes regarding the height of water? I will give it some more time to see if it quiets down for sure. But I don't see how bacteria growth and removal of oils etc from manufacturing are going to effect the loud gurgling sound, can you elaborate? Thanks again!

Both input and output should be just below the water surface. I millimeter below the water surface would work perfectly.

Awesome, so just a bit below the surface, that might be it. And you're referring to the caged part of the pipe attachments? That should be just below the surface?
