I just received my Classic CLSC-011OSS 5in Compact Skimmer w/ AQ1000s. Do I need to " break in" the skimmer by first running it in a bucket with water and vinegar??? Or can I just put in right into my sump and adjust as needed. I've been told both answers so I thought I'd ask the people who make the skimmer...

You will want to break in your skimmer in your sump, placing it in a bucket of water and vinegar will not break it in correctly. It will take up to 3 weeks to break in so during this time you will want to leave the gate valve all the way open to prevent overflows as much as possible. After the break in period you can begin to dial it in. Enjoy your new skimmer!
