I bought a Diablo 160 about a year ago from Marine Depot. In July I replaced the Sicce pump, as it completely stopped working. I didnt think about warranty at the time, but ordered another Sicce pump from Marine Depot. I clean the pump about every 3 months to rid build up, but last week, the pump stopped working again. I have jumped through hoops for Sicce and Marine Depot. Sicce is unwilling to help, as they say since the pump still makes a humming sound, its' the impeller which they dont cover under warranty; I bought this skimmer because it was supposed to be more durable and better quality than others, but needless to say, to date this isnt the case. I am very frustrated that Sicce has such a poor attitude about customer service and wont stand behind their product. I am happy with skimmer performance when the pump is working, but I could use some assistance. Marine Depot has not been able to get me pricing help on an impeller, and frankly I dont know that I want to put more money into I skimmer that I have already 300 for and another 159 for a replacement pump within a year. Can you assist, or provide me with other options to power skimmer. I want to give this a chance to work, but already been a week without a skimmer and no end in sight. I am hopeful you can assist. I am a member of reef central and reef to reef, and you have a good reputation, thats one reason I bought. Help!

I am sorry to hear about the issues you are having with Sicce. To tell you the truth, we no longer carry their pumps because of the same issue. We cannot get help from them ourselves so we decided that we did not want our customers to deal with them either.

We truly apologize for this but in this case, we are unable to provide any help on the matter because it is out of warranty and because Sicce itself is unresponsive even to us.

I can suggest switching your pumps from Sicce to Aquatrance for which we provide full support and warranty.
