Hi,

I have a SRO 2000int and I have been running it in 6 inches of water for over 2 months. and it continuously overflowing. The value is completely open but it just keeps going and if I close the adjustment value it does not seem to make a difference. It seems to be skimming but if I close the collector cup value it just keep overflowing. Not sure what else to do? Any suggestions?

There is something in the water that is making the skimmer foam excessively. Do you run fresh carbon? What do you use for water changes? Do you add water conditioner or dechlorinator?

I use a five stage RODI system and mix in Instant ocean, reef crystals; let it mix for 24 at least. In the sump I have a live rock, a BRS Carbon reactor and a BRS GFO reactor along with a ATO system. It is a new system so I was not to worried about it but now its been two months. I don't dose or add any chemicals. I did use epoxy to glue down my rockscape which I read makes the skimmer go crazy but again its been over two months.

The epoxy is probably what is causing the issue. Carbon and water changes will remove that completely from the system and the skimmer will go back to normal. Sometimes it takes a while for that stuff to be completely out of the system as it takes long for it to fully cure and stop leaching.

So two months is not unheard of? Even if I used the epoxy before adding the water and I waited water 24 hours after using the epoxy. I did use I entire 4 oz stick of epoxy. So if I use epoxy to set frags will it drive my skimmer crazy every time? if so should I use something else to glue frags?

Yes, depending on the epoxy you use, it can make ANY skimmer go crazy. There are different types of epoxy in the market that claim that they do not make the skimmer over foam and maybe they do make the skimmer foam less but they still do. Crazy glue will not make you skimmer overflow. There are cements out there that will not make your skimmer overflow. You just have to search around to find them.
