HI! I have a nwb 150 on a 90 gal with a 30 gal sump. It has 6 fish 1 shrimp and about 30 corals. Ive had this skimmer for about a year now and it just never seems to skim more then about a half inch in the cup a week. It seems to run perfect and is the correct water depth. Im pretty good on my husbandry...water changes....filter sock changes... ect. and clean the skimmer completely about every 3 months. My question is, is my husbandry to good that its not skimming a full cup a week or does the pump just not have enough power to be efficient ? I would upgrade to the bubble blaster 2000 if I new that it would pull out more but I just don't know the answer to that. Thanks for your time!

The skimmer seems to be working fine if it is pulling half a cup every week considering that your husbandry is excellent.

If you are making water changes, changing the filter sock and other weekly maintenance, then you are removing the organics from the tank before the skimmer has a chance to.
