I have a 55 gallon saltwater tank that has a rim around it. I received the nylon screws yesterday and went to install them but I can't get them past the rim. Are there any smaller sized screws that I can put on it because right now the motor is against the tank while the rest has a slight tilt backwards. I tried adjusting the screws to fit with the rim but it doesn't look like that is going to work. Also it used to make a gurgle sound, and now it doesn't plus it has this weird algae looking thing growing at the cone is it supposed to stop gurgling, and grow this algae thing?

Thanks,

Unfortunately there are no shorter screws. You can probably trim them but if you do and it does not work, you will need to purchase the replacement screwed as it would not be covered by the warranty.

I see but is there any way I can get it over the rim or it wasn't setup for that?

No, unfortunately if you don't have the clearance, then it cannot be used. Extending the pipes will not work as it would make the pump work harder than it should and it will compromise the performance of the skimmer.

So what am I supposed to do I just dropped 180 dollars on this, and it's not easy to get that kind of money for me that's about a month of saving up for it. Can I send it back get anot her one something that will work or no? If not it might be a good idea to post that it is not possible to fit this item on a rimmed tank so nobody spends the money just to find out what I did. And also is there anyone that has solved this or at least someone thing else I can use I mean it's not really that fair since I put the money down only to find out it doesn't fit.

I am sorry but the information can be found on our website. If you go to the product page, you will see a thumbnail with all the dimensions. The thumbnail should tell you if the unit is compatible with your tank or not.
