Feeding Mode 2nd Generation Does Not Work

I have a 2nd generation controller. When I press the power button once, a timer begins at 30 minutes. This is way longer than a feeding mode should be or what is indicated in the manual. What's worse is after the 30 minutes are up the pump does not turn back on. It displays off and the pumps don't turn back on unless I press the power button again. My controller is setup in auto mode with 10 different timed cycles. I did not have this problem with my 1st generation controller.

When in feed mode, press the "gear" button once and you will be able to change the duration of the feed cycle by turning the dial.

Thank you, thats great this can be adjusted. Will that also address the pump not turning back on after the feed mode time is up?

We have never had any issues with that so I would test that and see. Let us know.

I was able to change the time to 5 minutes. After the time expires both pumps display 'off' and 0%.

Change the controller to manual mode and then try again. I have a feeling you have a set point set to both pumps off and that is the issue. If it works fine on manual mode, then that is the problem.

All of my set points have the pumps assigned a percentage greater than 0%. I have 10 set points. When I scroll through them there is also a set point 11 that is set to off. I changed to manual mode, entered feed mode and after 5 minutes the pumps display off and 0%.

I just created a ticket and sent pictures of what it looks like in auto and manual mode after the feeding time expires.

Correction: My pumps does turn back on on themselves. But it's after about 5 minutes after the timer is up. So it was a total of about 10 minutes of feeding time although I only setup 5 minutes on the controller.

Firmware v1.7 will not take on my controller. It says the current version is v1.4... Do I need install any other prior version to get v1.7 to load?

Does it show version 1.4 when you first turn on the controller WITHOUT holding the center dial? Or does it say 1.4 only when you enter the upgrade screen by holding the center dial and powering up the unit? The controller has two firmwares... One is the regular day to day operation firmware that gets updated to 1.7 and then there is an upgrade firmware which is only accessed when you update the day to day firmware. That firmware does not get updated and remains 1.4.

Yes, it shows v1.4 when I power up without holding the center button and when I enter the upgrade mode and try to do the firmware upgrade steps. I have tried two different Micro SD cards 8g and 2g. When the controller reboots and initializes, it DOES NOT flash the new firmware (v1.7) version on the screen. Thanks for any help/suggestions you could provide.

How are you copying the files over to the SD card? Did you uncompress the zip file first? Are you dragging and dropping the .bin file to the SD card or did you open it with some program and then saved it to the SD card?

I downloaded the zip file. Then extracted it in the download folder. I then drug the xxxx.bin file to the root directory of the empty SD card using windows explorer.
I have tried several different ways...
This upgrade sounds very easy and I can't figure out why I'm having such a difficult time.

Yes, the upgrade only takes 30 seconds. The only thing I can think of is that the SD card you are using is not compatible. Have you formatted the cards? They need to be a standard FAT32 file allocation. If you formatted it to something else, it will cause the issue.

I tried reformatting just now and no change unfortunately. Test mode says SD card is OK.

I got it to work. Removed power from the wall outlet instead of the inline power connector... Why that would make a difference but it did. Leave it to me to make something simple, hard.!
