Octo classic 100 impeller shaft

Hello. I purchased from another person and octo classic 100 hob which has the aquatrance 1000s pump. When I got it the impeller shaft was busted so I bought a shaft which says it is for aquatrance 1000 & 1200. This should be the same shaft correct? Also if it is the correct part how now do I replace it as the ends seem to be unable to part off. I can tell it's the same shaft as the broken one.
