Unfortunately, they are not compatible, the pump ports are different sizes.

I appreciate this would void the warranty, but it would be easy to modify a XF330/XF350 by removing the port and splicing/replacing it with one from an XF250 with a waterproof fitting.
I like the design of the new pumps but I would not purchase if a new controller is required as too expensive.

No, it would not be advisable to do that, the controllers are very hard to open and you will likely damage the board inside of it when you open it. As fard as splicing the cable itself, we do not have just the cables with the pump plug so you would have to have another controller to do it anyway.
