Can someone explain the note that appears in the Detail section for the Diablo DC10500 water pump?"
The note states "Note: THIS IS NOT A PRESSURE RATED PUMP. This pump is not ideal for second floor application". I would like to use the pump in a basement sump which will require appx. 160" head height. Per the pump curve it looks like the pump could handle the 160" head height with appx 1585 gph rate. I would like a little more clarification on the what does it mean that it is not pressure rate and the definition of second floor applications. I would consider any head height over 120" to be second floor application but this contradicts the pump curve.

thanks

It refers to horizontal distance. Not head height. The pumps are not made to stand the added pressure of water pushing down on the pump when it is used in situations where it needs to push water from one floor to the other. For that, you need a pressure rated pump.
