All skimmers produce micro bubbles, especially new skimmers that have not broken-in. How long have you been running the skimmer and how old is your tank?

Thanks Your answer.

The tank is a old aquarium, but it was unused at 3 months and we renoved (new silicone). The plumbing corn-flow is brand new. The display tank 120 gallons + 66 gallons sump. I started to using the Reef Octopus skimmer and the aquarium in December 8. This is staying in 6 inch deep water, and his pump working on the lowest level. My return pump also Reef Octopus product (Diablo DC 1050) also brand new. Basically be said to have a complete system is brand new.
I changed water every week, but the "new water" is coming from my old tank. So it is real aquarium water, not a new water. What is my faut? What can i make better?

Is your return pump on a different compartment from where the skimmer is located. Most people deal with the micro bubbles by creating a compartment (a false wall or divider) that goes up only 6-7 inches tall. This makes the water go over the divider and gently flow into a new compartment where the return pump is located. This is a very efficient way of keeping the micro bubbles in the sump and not getting back to your tank.

Yes of course... it is in different compartment the skimmer have a separated space... before after bubble trap. There is staying in exactly 6 inch water. If you have a mail a can sand pictures. ...

And the water can not going directly in the last compartment, because we installed on the skimmer exit a "T" and a sort pipe (you know it was too loud, water - noise) so the water going downward under the skimmer...

Water depth is a problem. How do you measure 6 inches in? The bottom of the skimmer?

Because now, we raise the water level in two inch, so the skimmer is in 8 inches of water, and it works much better.. But we measured from bottom of skimmer.... I think 8.5 inch is the correct water depth... not 6-7

So the 6-7 inch (on this water level this skimmer is not working - no skimmer function just goes lots of microbubbles at the display tank) the recommended water depth is probably 8-9 inch . We are not happy with this because we lost time money on this mistake. water, salt, goes in toilette and we must to modify our sump.
Or if you are sure in the 6-7 inch, this tells me: This skimmer is trash...

The water is measured from the bottom of the skimmer to the top edge of the water level. The skimmer you have has a "recommended" water depth of 6.5" to 7.5" of water. Again, this is recommended but it will vary from system to system.

Are yo using any type of water conditioner or stress coat chemical for the fish? Are you washing any equipment in soapy water and then rinsing it with water? Do you have any type of hand cream that you have have introduced when cleaning the tank? There are many many many factors out there that can make a skimmer create more foam than usual. Once you figure out what the culprit of the issue is, then you remove it and the skimmer works as it should.

No no no. I'm afraid to take fish, coral in this aquarium. Basically 4-5 live rock and minimal sand exist in the tank. Soap, chemical, cream was never in the water.

RIght now i will to wait some day, because the skimmer started to work (in 8 inch water). Maybe, (if you have right) the skimmer will to clean the aquarium, so the skimmer function will to slowing.

Then we will discuss what we can do, what solutions are possible.

Thank you for your help and your patience

Glad that you figured it out. Skimmers (all of them regardless of brand) do not overflow like that for no reason. Something was added to the water to make it bubble that much.

Since it is all good now, I am closing this ticket.
