extending float sensor cables X2RS

i want to mount X2RS unit under the house and run water lines through floor to tank in my bedroom to cut down on noise , I see the float sensors have a headphone plug that plugs into X2RS main unit do you know if i could extend these cables with headphone extension cable so i can run main pump unit under the floor and still run float sensors with extension cables to my tank .. Thanks in advance for any help .
