New install of a 2000 extreme amount of micro bubbles

I replaced my old skimmer in my aquarium with the 2000. It runs great. But I can’t reduce the amount of micro bubbles entering my tank. I have the output raised as high as I can. I cannot lower my water level because everything else is installed for a full tank.

You should have circle sponges on the return

I have all three sponges on the discharge. I turned the upper elbow towards the outside and it is better. The problem is the overflow goes directly into the elbow. By turning the elbow to 45 degree angle it prevents the bubbles from flowing directly in to the elbow.

Check your lower sponge at the bottom of the skimmer to see if it is clogged and make sure its not all the way on the bottom

Were you able to resolve the extreme amount of micro bubbles? I have the same issue with a new 2000

Micro-bubbles are a normal part of a new skimmer breaking in, as the skimmer breaks in over the next 3-4 weeks the micro-bubbles will eventually settle down.

All is great now. It just needed to run for 3-4 days. It works perfectly. I like the results already.
Thanks,

Dave, did you have three (3) O rings included with your 2000 HOB? I am also getting an extreme amount of bubbles and I am thinking maybe the culprit could be the missing O ring I didn't receive. Mine only came with 2 and I left out the one that connects the pump with the Venturi. (ticket has already been submitted) I am just wondering if that could be my issue.
