Gyre xf-250

I'm looking to add the gyre xf-250 to my setup and had a few questions. I'm currently running the APEX and plan on utilizing the ice cap interface module to control the gyre. So my question is if I'm able to purchase just the pump and run it on my apex as described above or do I need to get both the pump and controller in order to do this? Thanks in advance.
