Hello!
I'm excited about your new riptide Gyre. However, I have a few questions I hope you can help me with before I make a $300 investment :-) Here we go

1. I have a 210 gallon tank with the overflow and returns all on one side. The tank is designed to be viewed from both sides. I would like to put it on my overflow box, my concern is will it put a lot of stress on my overflow box and potentially crack or ruin it? I've read that it produced a lot force (pressure) on glass and that the glass or acrylic should be thick enough to hand the pressure. Overflow boxes are made of plastic so I just want to make sure it would be ok.

2. Could you confirm what the minimum tank size is... It shows in the specs but I would like to know as I have multiple systems.

3. What the minimum flow rate they are capable of producing.

I look forward to your response as I would LOVE to remove powerhead and make my display much more appealing to the eye :-)

On a 210 gal, the overflow will be fine. The water puts far more pressure on the overflow that the Gyre will ever do.

The minimum length the XF150 should be run is 3' long.

We only have measured the max flow of the unit. We have independent labs testing the full range of flow and we will make the findings public as soon as we get them.

WOW!!! Quick turnaround. AWESOME!!!

When you say the run is 3' long are you saying in a 210 (like mine) that is 6 feet long it isn't strong enough to produce good flow to the other end :-(

Again thank you for your quick response... I honestly wasn't expecting it.

Yes, if you run the XF150 in a tank that is less than 3' long, you will have a hard time running it at low speeds without affecting the sandbed or being too strong. In a tank as yours, I would recommend running two of them. Both on the same side, one running horizontally and one running vertically or in opposite sides both running horizontally or one horizontal and one vertically.

Thank you Carlos!

By the sound of it one would be strong enough... I would just have to find the sweet spot between a low and high speed that will not affect my bed.

Thanks again.
