Hi, I have several questions regarding the BH2000 HOB skimmer.
1. What should the correct depth be for the intake and output pipes, i.e. how deep should they go below the water surface?
2. I'm seeing a lot of water splash and salt creep happening around the output area, even with a bubble stopper foam placed over the output basket, are there any ways to fix that?

Thanks in advance.

Here is a video that shows you how to assemble, install and run the CLSC-2000HOB skimmer. It will answer the question you have plus many more...

Hi Carlos,

Thanks for the quick response. I watched the video and it was very helpful.
The output pipe of my skimmer barely reaches the surface of the water (possibly due to the canopy raising the height). Do you know what size it is? I see there's a output pipe part for sale here, but not sure about size.

Thanks!

Unfortunately extending the intake pipe is not something we recommend. That will make the pump work harder and it may prevent the pump from being able to restart the syphon if you were to loose power. We do not recommend making those modifications as it would also void the warranty on the skimmer.

No I'm not extending the intake pipe, but the OUTPUT one. Right now the output pipe barely touches the water surface and a lot of water splash is introduced because of this (i think). From the video I can see that the output pipe is about 1 inch below surface and I'd like to achieve the same set up.

I am not sure how the output is too high when the intake is in perfect orientation to work. Can you please take a short video or photo of how you have the skimmer assembled? The cage on the output does pull away from the output pipe to extend further down to match the lowest setting for the intake screen.
