Slow leak in brand new reef octopus 1000 HOB Skimmer

I just purchases a reef octopus 1000 HOB Skimmer and followed the video to assemble and install it. Upon running it, there is a small leak (1 drop of water every minute or so) coming from where the pump connects to the center/bottom of the skimmer. (I can take a picture and upload it once I am home). Twice now, I have disassembled the device and checked the gasket -as far as I can tell, everything is fine.

What should I do now? Thanks!

Did you make sure that the o-ring is installed correctly and new chewed up? Are you using plumber's tape?

I did check the o-ring as well - it looks great (and I can check again when I get home). I didn't use any plumber's tape - should I do that?

No, you should not. Check the o-ring when you get home. If you still have the issue, please go ahead and submit a private ticket.
