Water level really depends on the system, as every one will have a different setting. You just want to keep the small microbubbles below where the collection cup attaches to the body. You want to allow a buffer zone for the foam to form. Also you want to make sure you allow the skimmer to run for 4 weeks before attempting to tune the skimmer. Performance and control is very erratic prior to break in.
