My custom acrylic 60g aio sump section is only 4.5" to accommodate for this skimmer's advertised 3.5" dimension. Is that 3.5" the total width including the intake? I'm wondering if my extra .75" will be enough for the draw of water by the pump.

The K2-50 footprint is 4.75in x 3.5in. .75" in front of the intake should not cause any issues with the intake of this pump.
