I am currently using the DC 5500 and 2 of the 10500 pumps on my system.

I noticed you guys are releasing a new DC pump.

1. Why are these better? Are they not the Waveline/jebao stuff anymore?

2. Is it the same foot print so when I have to replace my DC pumps with the new ones over time, will they match up?

I have broken 7 of the housing units on my pumps. Because they crack easily? I have addressed this problem along with several others locally that I know the same thing happened to. Have you guys fixed that issue with the new pumps? It's hard finding new info about them.

Thank you for your questions.

1. The new RODC pumps are not the waveline/jebao pumps anymore. These pumps were developed and made by Reef Octopus. They are better because unlike the current pumps, the IC board is no longer housed with the pump but it will now be housed in the controller box. The pumps are also more powerful then the current DC pumps. I think everybody is going to be very pleased with the new pumps coming out.

2. Yes, the volute is a little different on the new pumps but we will sell a separate volute that will make the new RODC pumps fully compatible with the old skimmers and equipment. Same footprint.

Yes, everything on the pump is made by Reef Octopus now. They are no longer rebranded pumps like every other DC pump out there. These have been in development for a few years and correct many of the issues that have plagued the current DC pumps.
