Hello CoralVue,

I ordered a replacement impeller for my RO skimmer due to recent flooding issues (which I have had before). This has usually been due to some type of impeller failure due to wear or breakage. Since I own 2 pumps, I replaced the impellar from my spare and I noticed that the spare impeller was different from the one that failed. The new one arrived and looks like my spare impeller. As you can see from the attached photo, there is no washer or o-rings on the rubber end piece on bottom of the failed impeller. So my question is when was this change implemented (if there was any) or could the old impeller have an incorrect part? Note - the "damage" on the top of the old one is due to me prying the volute end out -- there must be an easier way to get those out!! Thank you and Happy New Year.

How old is your pump? Reef Octopus changed the bushings a couple years ago, the old impeller did not have the incorrect part. I don't see any damage to the old impeller, it is hard to get the impellers out especially if there is build-up on the impeller bushings and due to the magnet strength.
