XF350 - Controller Issue

I just installed my new XF350 in my saltwater tank. I was doing a water change so I put the unit in the container of new mixed saltwater. I was trying to get familiar with the setting prior to putting it in the tank. I set the setting on the controller where I would probably set them in the tank. The Gyre worked fine so I moved over to the tank. I have not been able to ever get the controller to turn on the gyre in the tank. Not sure if the controller is bad or if the gyre no longer works. The "Gyre" emblem light on the controller turns on but the controller will not turn on. I have held the on-off button down for many seconds with no change in the controller. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
