Can the XPAqua solenoid by mounted right before the RO water drips into the sump. My RO unit is mounted remotely and is gravity fed into the sump through a float switch. I want the XPAqua solenoid to be a backup so that if the sump level gets too high or the float switch sticks open, the solenoid will open and stop the flow of RO water into the sump.

Will this work? Do I need a controller with it?

Yes, you can definitely have a solenoid there. You just need to figure out a way to trigger it if the water goes too high.

The features on the coralvue website state "Directly Connects to Smart ATO Controller". However, I can not find a "Smart ATO Controller" located on the Coralvue website.

However, Marine Depot has one that seemingly is made for this application.....XP Aqua RO/DI Flood Guardian - Electronic Auto Shut Off Valve Kit (AKA The Marriage Saver)

We do not have any information about a Smart ATO controller. You may have to reach out to Marine Depot and ask them.
