I recently purchased the skimmer for a freshwater 100 gal tank. The avg water temp is between 50-60 degrees. I set the skimmer up and it was producing perfect amount of bubbles and started separating immediately. It lasted for a few days and then suddenly today i noticed there are not as many bubbles coming from the pump and on the lowest setting i cannot get any bubbles to the top of the collection neck.

Any suggestions here?

Unfortunately you cannot use a skimmer in freshwater. Freshwater does not have the chemical characteristics needed to make a skimmer foam the way salt water does. In this case, the skimmer wont work. There is a reason why you do not see a fresh water skimmer on the market.

well that is a bummer. your wording online says "most saltwater tanks" but does not say anything about this not working in freshwater specifically. excuse my ignorance as it was something i researched and didnt see anything about. i guess i will add a couple of wood stones inside the chamber and see if that maybe helps before i return this thing.

Yes, I am sorry about it that it does not work on freshwater but the wording on the website does not say freshwater anywhere. Also, if you google you will not find a single company selling a protein skimmer for fresh water tanks. There isn't one because freshwater does not interact with injected air like saltwater does.
