I purchased a gyre on July 10th. It arrived a few days later and I registered the product that day. The product has been in the tank for 7-10 days. Everything worked fine until I woke up this morning.

Noticed the flow looked reduced so I turned up the pump. Noticed no change. Looked at the gyre and noticed they were not spinning. The controller does not indicate a problem.

Lifted the pump and no visible obstruction, I can hear the pump wind up, the blades move 1/2 rotation then stop.

Again no visible obstruction.

On a side note when I moved the pump I noticed what appears to be a little rust spot on the glass which had to be scrubbed off. Curious if there is volt leakage and a reaction behind the pump mount.

Took apart and cleaned according to instructions. No visible damage and no debris or obstruction. reassembled and placed into tank.

Exact same thing. winds up blade turns and then stops. makes an audible whoop sound.

Please advise

Jason,
I had the same problem with one of my pumps. Took apart the pump many times and put it back together per instruction. They sent me a new motor because the one I had didn't work. I ended up sending the pump back for repair, 25$ mailing fee. When I received it back they told me the gears were stripped, after 30 minutes of sporadic functioning. I also registered my product and they still requested a proof of purchase.
